history
As of now, Cern researchers have used the LHC to convert Lead in gold atoms for a microsecond by colliding lead
nuclei to create a verv. very rare state of matter called auark-gluon plasma. Gold atoms are created when these nuclei are about to hit, but miss their trajectory by a bit.
During March, 2010, scientists announced a problem with it's superconducting wires that only allowed it to run at 7 Tev. it shut down for a while and then reset its power levels to 13 tev during april 2015
On November 30th, 2009, it was able to surpass the Fermi National Accelerator's record bv acceleratina protons to 1.18 teraelectron volts.

it did its first testt on september 10 2008 but an electrical problem with it scooling system resulted in minimal temperature increase which meant that the magnets which had to operate at a temperatures near 0 k underwent repair
