Common time expressions include: yesterday, last night, last week, in 2020, two days ago, etc.
This tense uses the past form of regular or irregular verbs, and in negative or question forms, it uses the auxiliary did.

Ford verbs ending in - e, Just add - d
Love - Loved
If the verb endsin a consonant + y, change y to - ied
