plywood is a lightweight material, this makes it safer it to were to fall. It is strong, this would mean it can hold a lot of thins without breaking. It is cheap, I you have a busy household and cannot afford expensive organising products
acrylic comes in a range or colours and finishes making it more intersting and increase motivation to stay tidy for young kids
both these materials can be etched, this means they can be clearly labeled to avoid a mix up

a modern theme would give a clean look which is the desired look and feel that the product should make.

a multistory shoe rack which would accomodate for different shoe size so that younger kids shoes would't fall through the gaps
a cultery and equipment holder so that you have easy access to what you need instead of rumaging through draws
