3D Models with Autodesk Fushion
Computer-Aided Design & 3D Modelling
CAD software transformed design by replacing manual drafting with precise, efficient digital tools.
It evolved from simple 2D drawings to advanced 3D modeling, becoming essential in industries like automotive and aerospace.
Autodesk Fushion
A cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform for product design and manufacturing. Some benefits of Autodesk Fusion
Push the limits with 3D modeling: Design and make products with parametric, freeform, direct, and surface 3D modeling tools.
Engineer precision for all workflows: Reduce the impact of design and engineering changes with centralized collaboration and simulations.
Go from design to manufacture faster: Import and edit designs with CAD data translators for 50+ file types using integrated CAD/CAM.

Properties of an Object and Exporting File for 3D Printing
In Fusion, open the 3D model of Object 3
Right click on "Body1" in the Browser
Select "Properties"
Refer to the Properties Window that pops up
Exporting 3D Model for 3D Printing
file extension for 3D printing is the *.STL file type.
Click on UTILITIES > MAKE > 3D Print
When the dialogue box pops up, select the 3D model to be saved for 3D printing
Check that the Format is STL, and uncheck "Send to 3D Print Utility"
Save the file in the desired location
Sustainability Through 3D Modelling
Designing and Testing Virtually: CAD lets designers virtually test 3D models for properties like strength and center of mass to ensure parts meet requirements before physical production.
Multiple Digital Prototypes without Use of Physical Resources: CAD enables creating multiple digital prototypes without physical resources, reducing environmental impact.
Facilitates 3D Printing: CAD is essential for 3D printing, enabling sustainable prototyping with minimal waste and efficient material use.
