Pixel-Based Local Sound OLED is a revolutionary display technology developed by POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology, South Korea). First announced in 2024, it integrates piezoelectric actuators directly into each OLED pixel, allowing the screen to produce sound without the need for traditional speakers.
This innovation builds upon OLED’s natural thinness and flexibility, aiming to create fully immersive audio-visual experiences.
