Joints of the lower limb - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Medial (tibial) - prevents abduction
      - Lateral (fibular) - prevents adduction
    - - Anterior (ACL) - prevents anterior sliding of tibia
      - Posterior (PCL) - prevents posterior sliding of tibia
    - - Medial (medial collateral ligament) and Lateral
      - Function -> increase stability (deepens the articulation = more contact between joint surfaces) and weight bearing/shock absorption
      - Injury common (partial/ full tear) (Avascular = no blood supply = poor repair)
- - - - Inversion - bottom of the foot points towards the midline
      - Eversion - bottom of the points towards the outside (lateral)
