      - No world wars because of them since 1945
    - - Deliberately targets innocent civilians
      - Can threaten world with extinction (has left land unhabitable)
        
        Could cause a new 'Ice Age)
      - Can leave long term effects on people's health
      - Costly (can use money for other things)
      - Tension between countries (does not promote peace)

        Majority are against it
        
        Goes against 'proportionality' and 'not harming citizens' in the Just war theory
        
        Pope went to Hiroshima to say that nuclear weapons should never be used or held by countries

        No humansist is going to support the use of WMD
        
        Some may say as a deterrent they are ok

        Some totally against them 'the world is all we have'
        
        Others say it is ok for countries to possess them
        
        Some may use the ethical principle of Utilitarianism
