The heart as a pump
-
-
Blood enters the heart into the right atrium from the body through two large veins. It then moves into the right ventricle, which pumps it to the lungs to pick up oxygen. The oxygen-rich blood comes back to the heart into the left atrium, then moves into the left ventricle. From there, it is pumped out to the rest of the body. This cycle keeps repeating to make sure all parts of the body get the oxygen they need.
