before they are spoken out loud

Key features of interior monologue:
Logical structure is often broken
Everything happens inside the character’s mind
The narrator may or may not be present
Thoughts are shown directly, without phrases like “she remembered.”
Events may not follow a timeline
There are two types of interior monologue:
Indirect Interior Monologue:
The thoughts are organised and explained
The character stays in one place while their mind moves in time
The narrator guides the story
Direct Interior Monologue:
-he narrator disappears, and we hear the character’s thoughts directly
-Thoughts are raw, as if we’re inside the mind
