What is Barbarossa and what happened during it
Barbarossa was the attempted invasion of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany
When Barrbaossa started, Hitler believed that he would easily be able to overrun the USSR in just 10 weeks using blitzkrieg. This worked incredibly until German oil plants in Romania were bombed by the Soviets from a hidden base in Crimea, in the city of Sevastopol. After this the Soviets counter attacked in Moscow and over put the Germans on the back foot, eventually expelling them from the USSR.
