Assembly Models with Autodesk Fusion - Coggle Diagram
Assembly Models with Autodesk Fusion
Product Assembly
Product assembly involves combining individual components to create a complete and functional product
In industries like manufacturing, engineering, and design, efficient assembly is essential for cost-effectiveness, quality control, and production scalability.
WHAT is Assembly Modelling?
Assembly modeling in CAD combines multiple parts to create a complete product, enabling collaboration to ensure the assembly functions correctly.
Assembly Modelling for Sustainability
Smarter Product Design through Virtual Interfacing
Digital testing of fit and function helps detect issues early, preventing material waste from flawed physical prototypes.
Fewer Physical Prototypes Needed
Virtual simulations reduce the need for physical prototypes, saving materials, energy, and costs.
More Efficient Manufacturing
A well-tested virtual assembly reduces production errors, minimizing waste, speeding up manufacturing, and lowering environmental impact.
HOW Assembly Modelling in CAD Works
Assembly starts with a base component, followed by positioning other parts using joints. In Fusion, parts can be built and assembled in one file, while other CAD software uses separate part and assembly files.
Joints
Rigid Joints
Fixes two components to one another; it provides no degrees of freedom.
Revolute Joint
Has a single rotational degree of freedom, much like a hinge.
Settings up fusion team project
Step 1
Open the Data Panel. Then click on the top left to toggle between different teams. Unless you have set up multiple teams, you should only have one team at this time.
Step 2
Click on "New Project" and name the folder appropriately.
Step 3
Double click on the project folder, then click on the "People" tab.
Step 4
Click on "Add members". This will open a browser. Key in the RP email address of your first teammate. Press enter.
Step 5
Grant 'Editor' access for the team member. They will need this to create and edit 3D models in the project folder.
Step 6
Add all team members using their RP email address. Remember to press 'Enter' after keying the email address, and grant 'Editor' permission.
Step 7
Check all team members are added with the correct permission.
