Start with exposure - wait to see if outcome happens.
Retrospective Cohort
Data collected that started with exposure.
Wait to see if outcome happened.
Look back to see if exposure increased risk of outcome.
Case Study/Series
Descriptive account of a particular patient case/cases.
Limitations
No control group for comparisons.
Cross-Sectional Study
Particular observation made at a specific point in time.
Limitations
Cannot analyse behaviour over time.
