ACTIVITY: The activity will be a worksheet of "then and now" so machines then and machines now, or farmers then and farmers now and how they do things.
CONCEPT: In the lesson the learners will be taught "life and work on sugar cane farms, then and now.
CONCEPT: The learners will be taught how to use a map of South Africa and how to identify certain land marks.
NATURAL SCIENCE
The learners will get a seed, some cotton wool and a plastic ziplock bag for the planting process of (sugar cane) but we are not plating sugar cane, just a little seed plant.
CONCEPT: In this lesson the learners will all be putting their seed into the cotton wool, but will be taught how sugar cane is actually planted.
ACTIVITY: The learners will each get a seed, cotton wool, and a ziplock bag, and they will put it in with the cotton wool wrapped around it.

TECHNOLOGY
CONCEPT: In the lesson the learners will learn what is a sugar mill, why is it important, what machinery is used in a sugar mill, etc..
ACTIVITY: A video will play with all this information on and the learners will have an answer worksheet with them. The video will play twice and then the learners will have a chance to answer all the questions about the sugar mill.

ACTIVITY: As a Garde we will go to a sugar mill and make an outing out of it and come back and do i write up of what we saw and what we learnt.
CONCEPT: The learners will understand how the sugar cane is processed into sugar, as well as what happens with it when it is ready to be distributed.
