According to John Dyer (2009), "technology is not just the phones in our pockets and the laptops in our bags." It is a more complicated product that affects our personal and social lives in every way.
According to Isman (2012), innovation is the process of combining ideas and information to produce new products that simplify our lives.
Technology is an accumulation of ideas that have been generated and processed in response to the needs and wants of humans throughout history.

As discussed in W. Brian Arthur's book The Nature of Technology: What it is and how it evolves, The first and most fundamental one is technology. It serves to satisfy a human aim. A technology can be a procedure, a technique, or a piece of equipment. Or it could be complicated. Or it might be material. Alternatively, it could be immaterial. Whatever it is, it is always used to fulfill a human objective.(Arthur's 2009)

Technology is a collection of instruments and procedures that help people live more satisfying lives, from improving health and well-being to achieving economic and strategic objectives. Technology is critical to both developing and developed countries' economic processes and geopolitical power (Megantz, 2002, as cited in Li-Hua, 2007).
