need energy
animals need - food, water, air
plants need - sunlight, water, air
How living things are change?
grow, change, die
an apple seed
sprouts -> 2. seedling -> 3. an adult tree
grow fruit -> 5. fall to the ground -> 6. back into the soil
new trees grow -> 8. the tree die-> 9. reproduce
adapt
change to survive
in their environment
animals -> travel long distances
to escape the cold
to find food
hare -> grow white fur -> to hide its environment
plants
grow toward sunlight
cacti -> store water inside stems
to survive in hot, dry environmnet
What are nonliving things?
not alive
don't need -food, air, water
can't- grow, change, reproduce or die
made of once alive
chair
- made out of wood -> came from living things
rocks -> can't grow or change
the ocean -> nonliving things -> home to a lot of living things
pencil - made of wood -> comes from trees / can't grow and change
