Soldier at war in Afghanistan explaining the PTSD he's suffers from because of the things he seen at war (conflict)
Quotes
"And the drink and drugs won't flush him out".
The soldier is explaining that even after taking drugs and drinking he can't get the reminder of this incident out of his head.
"I see every round as it rips through his life"
He is watching the mans life end as he is torn apart right infront of his eyes. This has an effect on the speaker as he can't get that image out of his head.
"and he's there on the ground sort of inside out"
This is a childish description of the mans body and suggests that even an adult can't make sense of what is happening.
"His bloody life in my bloody hands"
He feels resonsible/guilty for the mans death
"His blood-shadow stays on the street"
A visual reminder of the incident and foreshadows that the memories are going to haunt him.

Soldiers are being exposed to the cold- transforming them physically into corpses

Metaphor of the eyes of the living and the dead men overpowered by nature and that death docent change anything.

That's my last duchess painted on the wall, Looking as if she where alive.
The duke is implying that he owns the duchess even after death. It sets a sinister tone and suggests the wife is like property.

Suggests duke is arrogant and proud of his history.
