3D Models with Autodesk Fusion - Coggle Diagram
3D Models with Autodesk Fusion
a cloud-based 3D modeling, CAD, CAM, CAE, and PCB software platform for product design and manufacturing.
Benefits
1.
Push the limits with 3D modeling:
Design and make products with parametric, freeform, direct, and surface 3D modeling tools.
2.
Engineer precision for all workflows
: Reduce the impact of design and engineering changes with centralized collaboration and simulations.
3.
Go from design to manufacture faster
: Import and edit designs with CAD data translators for 50+ file types using integrated CAD/CAM
Properties of a 3D model
1.In Fusion, open the 3D model of Object 3
2.Right click on "Body1" in the Browser
3.Select "Properties"
4.Refer to the Properties Window that pops up
Exporting 3D Models for 3D Printing
text commonly use file extension for 3D printing is the
*.STL file type.text
1.Click on UTILITIES > MAKE > 3D Print
2.When the dialogue box pops up, select the 3D model to be saved for 3D printing
3.Check that the Format is STL, and uncheck "Send to 3D Print Utility"
4.Save the file in the desired location
Sustainability through 3D Modelling
Designing and Testing Virtually:
CAD allows you to check on part details based on the digital 3D model and an assigned material. This allows a designer to make sure that the designed part meets functional requirements before developing it physically.
Multiple Digital Prototypes without Use of Physical Resources
: CAD allows for multiple tailored designs wherein resources do not need to be spent to create multiple physical prototypes, which reduces the impact on the environment.
Facilitates 3D Printing
: CAD is crucial for designing parts for 3D printing, a process that generates minimal waste compared to traditional subtractive methods. This synergy allows for sustainable prototyping or even production with highly efficient material usage when using 3D printing.
