Learning the terms for the code of professional conduct for teaching practices.
The coordinator department of Initial Training of IES 5 Teacher's Training College.
Must internally and annually organize a work team for each program.
These teams should include the practicum
trainers, the program coordinator, and other trainers with available hours if
needed.
This teams will be supported by the
coordinator of initial training.
With the trainer will jointly select the
cooperating teacher.
The trainer (s) Pedagogical traine
Participate in the development of the Annual Practicum Project for each degree program.
Ensure and support the functioning of the practicum team.
Facilitate inter- and intra-institutional meetings.
Collaborate with professors by supporting the teaching and learning processes throughout the various training stages of the students.
Act as a liaison between the Teacher Training Institutes (IES) and the Partner Institutions.
The cooperating teacher
Assumes the responsibility of collaborating with the practicum trainer in the training process within a partner school or educational organization.
Becomes involved in the practicum projects and in the development of the teacher students’ professional teaching profile.
Any cooperating teacher who assumes this role may, if deemed appropriate, participate in certain practicum and residency activities.
Their contribution will be formally recognized, this recognition will be in the form of a certificate
acknowledging the role performed.
The tasks to be carried out by cooperating
teachers include agreeing with the practicum trainer on the criteria, tools, groupings, spaces, and timing for the implementation and evaluation of the practicum.
Must also facilitate student teachers’ access to spaces, documents, and resources available within the organization.
Should participate alongside the trainer in meetings, workshops, consultations, and decision making processes to support future practicums.
Responsible for identifying and communicating any issues within the institution where they work.
Must approve, along with the practicum trainer, the lesson plan submitted by the practicum student.
They should accompany and support student teachers during their pedagogical interventions, observe the lessons taught by the student teachers, and produce a brief report based on these observations.
The student teachers
Must comply with the schedules established for each practicum stage in the designated institutions.
Professional and ethical behavior, demonstrating appropriate attitudes and confidentiality.
Must also adhere to the specific regulations of the partner schools.
Should remain on the school premises without
disrupting the normal course of school activities.
Required to dress appropriately, in accordance with the professional standards for teachers and the requirements of the educational institution.
Must bring all the didactic resources planned for their classroom interventions when delivering each
lesson.
Expected to arrive at the school at least fifteen
minutes before the scheduled start of their class.
Any unexcused lateness or early departure will result in a warning, and if repeated, it may lead to suspension from the practicum.
Must actively seek support from their supervising trainers, requesting guidance, feedback, and assistance as needed throughout the practicum process.
Their presence during the entire practicum or residency period does not guarantee its approval.
Must demonstrate both the ethical and attitudinal qualities, as well as the academic and formative competencies required for the professional teaching profile.
Prinicipals/ Viceprincipals
Establish, through the agreement, terms of work and inter-institutional cooperation.
Carry out the necessary actions to fulfill what was agreed upon in the agreement with the IES.
Provide the practice team with information about the various lines of action within which the institution operates, including national, provincial, and local programs, among others.
Inform the practice team about the issues, projects, and experiences of the institution in relation to the context in which it is situated.
Facilitate the spaces, time, tasks, and practices for collaborative work between co-trainers.
English Specific trainer
Must take full responsibility for the pedagogical proposal
Must present the pedagogical proposal to the student teachers, along with the established teaching foundations.
Support student teachers in carrying out activities and assignments related to the practicum.
Must propose and support the implementation of activities that promote formative experiences.
They must be part of the coordinator department, taking on specific roles and tasks.
Expected to draft the annual practicum project together with the coordinator department, as well as the agreement with partner schools.
Responsible for designing the pedagogical proposal
Must coordinate with the cooperating teacher of the educational levels regarding training criteria, and must also reach agreements with the cooperating teacher on the fieldwork.
Expected to respect institutional norms and work agreements.
Authorized to issue verbal or written warnings if student teachers fail to comply with established regulations
Provide support and follow-up through tutoring and evaluation for up to 15 student teachers.
If this number is exceeded, an additional trainer must be assigned.
Will propose and request potential cooperating teachers to the school management.
