What actually happened?
In 33 AD Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion due to blasphemy. He was hung on a cross in-between two thieves to show that he wasn't any better than a thief. Before he died he shouted "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?". Three days after he was put in his tomb one of his followers saw his tomb open and not long after that one of his followers saw him risen from the dead. One of Jesus' followers, Thomas didn't believe that Jesus had risen and only when Jesus had come to him and shown him his wounds did he believe Jesus then said "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed".
