        Stanza One: Urn is introduced, image engraved is detailed, urn is immortal and eternal, the urn is an "unravished bride". "historian", "foster child". "Still"
        
        Stanza Two: power of artistic imagination, negative capability. Transience vs Immortality is focused. speaker listens to the music on the urn on spiritual level. concept of time (nor ever, never never, for ever), young lover chasing women he'll never lose her.
        
        Stanza Three: shifts to highly energetic and feverish, happy repetition, the urn is above any human emotion, art surpasses human passion.
        
        Stanza Four: joy to uncertainty, fearful and sorrowful, realise tru meaning of immortality, unfulfilled potential
        
        Stanza Five: describes the urn but there is a weed (seed of self doubt), urn returns to silent form, closes w urn speaking

        One of heat's last works of his great year, aware of sickness, meditation on the seasons of life (distinct romantic imagery of nauture, pastoral scenes and seasons. maturity evident through ode form, iambic pentameter, rich use of language
        
        keat muses life over imbued with energy and potential vs human life cut short. life imitating art = anti mimesis, nature and seasonal beauty, seasons of life inherently intertwined with nature.

        STANZA 1: power in death, imagery focuses on pain vs joy "heart aches" "numbness pain" vs "happy" "light winged" "melodious", onomatopoeic sounds are used to separate the emotions. Allusio to classical history and the suicide of Socrates ( he had been put on trial and sentenced to death he chose to drink Hemlock) the death of great sibyl power in that as socrates choses to be his own executioner. 'my' authorial intrusion crates a personal tone not seen in other odes - deeply personal.
        
        STANZA 2: seeking smth to acces the fantasy world. not drunk - but being in a realisation in the metaphysical world. opening is pastoral and ideal but the stanza ends in dread - death "fades away", longing for escape becomes central
        
        STANZA 3: leads with negative imagery - decay and decline which even beauty cannot escape. not just an end but a lack of exisiting - 'fading' 'dissolving' 'never known' - insanity of the poetic voice seeking to be numbed. Personificaly of Beauty and Love (capialised)
        
        STANZA 4: exclamation - rejecting the wine, speaker chooses the escape of imagination over inebriation.feeling and emotion over reason and though. dark imagery 'no light' 'glooms', the bird offers an escape from pain of reality.
        
        STANZA 5: intense feeling of being consumed by darkness - followed from end of stanza four. imagery of nature - this is in spring (alluded to by mid may's eldest child -flowers will bloom come May), promise of new life in the next season to come.
        
        STANZA 6: peace found in death - 'easeful death' - 'rich to die', death is personified as one who the speaker is 'in love' with -
        
        STANZA SEVEN: the immortal nature of the bird is described - oxymoronic description "born for death
        
        STANZA 8: bell tolling - being brought back to themselves away from the inebriated sate and to reality. speaker birds "adieu" to the dream and return to their 'home', final couplet - what is it about? are they questioning the line between dreaming and reality> or the inadequacy of their imagination.
