Should we use animals for scientific tests?
Hook
How would you feel if you were that animal, would you want to end up weak and naive?
Do you really want to see another animal end up in the dirt?
"Why (test cosmetics) on some poor animal who hasn’t done anything wrong?”– Ellen DeGeneres
Specialized information
They use animals for scientific experiments because they want to learn more about health problems that affect both humans and animals. so they use animals to test products and treatments to see if it safe for humans
They use animals to develop treatments, so if the treatment goes wrong they won't loose a whole human being and just an animal
The UK, India, and the EU have banned animal testing for cosmetics, showing it’s possible to move away from this practice.
History & background
They started using animals for science experiments in 3rd and 4th century
Greek philosophers like Aristotle and Erasistratus performed experiments on living animals
They use animals for test is because human organs and animal organs and skin are so similar.
Argument #2 Not all things they do on animals will work on humans.
It has been proven that 90% of drugs pass animals tests fail in human trails
If the product or drug doesn't work on the human then you would have just harmed and animals and you would waste all the resources you used for whatever test they did
If the results don't match up with humans then it can delay any treatment that might be needed urgently
Argument #1 animals suffer for no good reason
Sometimes the results are never published or used, so the animal suffered and experienced pain for none of the research to ever be released
Even if the animals is still healthy after the test they still kill it to avoid having to care for it.
Some animals are only made to just be thrown away again. They breed these really weird animals then they test them and then just kill them. making them suffer for no reason
Thesis Statement
In scientific experiments, animals suffer needlessly because the strategies they use are cruel, the result doesn't always work on humans and we re facing away from actually working for the benefit of humans..
Argument #3 Testing on animals takes away from human-focused activity
Working on human cells are more reliable than animals because working on animals takes time to transfer all the animal organs to human related cells
Scientists do really similar test on animals it takes an animals life and the test is pretty much useless because it is almost the same thing that has already been done.
Scientists may waste time testing more on animals instead of moving on to human-based research.
NO, we should use animals for science experiments. They are still God's creations and we are using them for some fun. Killing an animal is heartless just even if it does end up being healthy after the experiment they still killing it because they don't wanna take care of God's creation
