Brushed
Commutator, Armature (rotor), Stator (PM/electromagnetic), Shaft, Brush
Current in rotor wire creates magnetic flux > interacts with stator field > rotation via commutator.
Pros: High torque at low speed, simple speed control.
Cons: Brush wear, maintenance, EMI noise.
Brushless
Stator (3-phase windings), Rotor (PM), no brushes.
Electronic commutation (Hall sensors), shifting stator field for continuous rotation.
Pros: High efficiency, low maintenance, better heat dissipation.
Cons: Complex control, higher cost.
