ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS:
Eight of the twenty must be introduced daily, in order to maintein them in the body. Their absence stops the formation of proteins and tissues.

meat, fish, eggs, milk and its derivatives
HIGH BIOLOGICAL VALUE:
they possess all the essential AAs
PLANT ORIGIN
EXAMPLES:
in pulses and cereals, like pasta, bread, peas, beans, soya, and dried fruit
INCOMPLETE:
without one, or more essential AAs
they must be supplemented
to build complex proteins
