how enzyme work?
-
an enzyme has a specific 3 dimensional shape, it has a groove called active site
only the substrate with a complementary shape can fit into the active site, the substrate fits in the enzyme like a key and binds with it. therefore, an ENZYME-SUBSTRATE COMPLEX is formed
when the chemical reaction covert the substrate to products it will leave the active site, the enzyme remains unchanged
-
BIOLOGICAL washing powders able to wash off the stain easily as it contains different kinds of enzymes to break down the stain which may contain proteins and fats, after breaking down it will turn simple molecules which are soluble in water and easily to wash off/
