Process of Decay:
Dentine Involvement
Once enamel is destroyed, decay spreads to dentine.
Pulp Damage
If untreated, decay reaches the pulp, causing inflammation, pain

Initial Stage
Bacteria attack pits, fissures, and interproximal areas, decalcifying enamel

Advanced Stage:
Infection spreads to periodontal tissues, leading to swelling, gumboil, and tooth loss.
Prevention:
Regular dental checkups, scaling, and polishing.

Proper oral hygiene (brushing, flossing).
Treatment:

Untreated decay leads to pulpitis, abscesses, and tooth destruction.
