Rocks
Sedimentary rock
Form from sediments that are compressed and tightly packed together
Clastic
Sediments that are packed together
Classified by size
Organic and crystalline
Evaporate water get dried out and become gas and the solid compress together
Precipitate Water does not drain out and the rock have a soggy texture
Biological matter Fromed by insect or bird remains from a long time ago
Metamorphic rock
Changes due to intense temperature or pressure
Contant
On the outside layer of the magma, around the edge of magma
Regional
Created by pressure for maple : In the crust where earthquake occur
Igneous rock
Formed by cooling of lava or magma that create rock
Named by the place they formed Eg : Inside volcano = intrusive. Outside, in lava = extrusive
Intrusive igneous rocks form large crystals and cools down very slowly
Extrusive igneous rocks cooled almost as fast s they got out and had no or only small crystals formed. They might also contain air bubbles since it cooled so fast.
