It is the production of goods by industrial processes. It takes raw materials from the primary industries of farming and processes them into manufacutured goods and products.
A large-scale industry employs many people takes up a lot of space, has a large capital investment and produces a high volum of products aiming for high profits.
A small-scale industry employs few people, uses up a small amount of land, has a low investment and produces a low volume of products aiming for a modest profits.
