The learner role is active, collaborative and autonomy-centered.
Learners are expected to assume responsibilities such as negotiating meanings, formulating hypotheses, and cooperating with others to accomplish the task.

The approach is based on a functional and pragmatic perspective of language, rather than on a structural or grammatical view.

on the one hand, it shows the wide range of possibilities that exist in the design of teaching tasks and, on the other hand, it offers a clear and sequenced structure for implementing these tasks in the classroom.
