Immune System
Adaptive immunity
-
-
Humoral immunity
-
Immunoglobulins
IgE
-
-
Binds woth high affinity to receptors on mast cells, basophils, and activated esinophils
-
-
-
IgA
Subclasses
IgA1
Monomeric, located in the blood and extracellular spaces
IgA2
Dimeric, located in mucus membranes and secretions
Cell- mediated immunity
Cells
T cells
Cytotoxic T cells
Kill virus-infected, tumour, and transplanted cells
-
-
The steps
Step 1: T cells bond to antigen-MHC complex on the surface of APCs, the actovation of T cells occur
Step 2: Th will produce cytokines, Tc will kill virus-infected, tomur, and transplanted cells by inducing apoptosis to them
Step 3: after killing the antigen, the number of activated T-cells will decrease because of apoptosis
