But what is the link between Language Relativism, linguistics and cultural identity?
As stated by Western Michigan University (), linguistics studies the ability of the human being to communicate, and not only this, it looks at the diversity of languages, families of languages, comunicative codes or behaviors, alongside with the study of semantics (meanings), pragmatics, sociolinguistics, etc.
The bond Language relativism theory and LINGUISTICS share is the last one studies the phenomenon of the differences between languages, meaning of words, words created by the different sociological groups, words created for specialized fields, like sciences, engineering, among others, that prove language relativism.
As for CULTURAL IDENTITY, we cannot deny that every jargon, slang, argot, intonation, etcetera, proper to the country and society in wich we are developing ourselves, are things we can recognize even in the other side of the world, proving once more that language relativity is a theory grounded in the fact that language shape our identity, our vision of the world, and it's a very important part of our culture.
