Creative approaches to teaching
Cross Curricular teaching
Helps teachers plan an imaginative, integrated curriculum (Kerry, 2015)
Provides support for students and teachers with practical ideas and accessible guides for all aspects of an integrated curriculum (Kerry, 2015)
An approach which integrates multiple subjects into their lessons (Sphero Team, 2023)
Increases student engagement (Sphero Team, 2023)
Allows children to be equipped with the mental toolkit to problem solve independently (Sphero Team, 2023)
Problem Based Learning
A student-centred method of teaching that involves learning through solving unclear but accurate problems. (Etherington, 2011)
Develops long term retention (Guido, 2016)
Promotes reflection, skills in communication and collaboration and requires reflection from multiple perspectives. (Etherington, 2011)
Develops transferable skills (Guido, 2016)
Improvement of Teamwork and interpersonal Skills (Guido, 2016)
Potential poorer performance on tests (Guido, 2016)
Student inpreparedness (Guido, 2016)

It's a teaching approach where an imaginary scenario is used to engage the children in activities for learning.
Builds confidence and independence
Project based learning
Project-based learning allows students to learn more about something that they are interested in.

Creates a positive outlook towards learning
Project-based learning often does not teach children the required material and standards which they are expected to learn in a specific subject area.
