Customer
Apart from its good functionality and somewhat ergonomic approach the market must be to those who are rich and enjoy the higher things in life due to the extremity of the cost. However it may be a demandable piece for collects or lovers of this artwork due to it being the most easily available and cheapest piece of his work that still allows people to show off their wealth subtly
Safety
The only safety concern with said product is the screw area of the corkscrew, it may cause harm however can be avoided with a sheath or bubble wrap stop small children hurting themselves, otherwise the design has no other safety risks and everything else is taken into account for, like the lack of strays on the wood means no splinters can be caused. Painted with solvent free paints to reduce harm
Function
Functioned for removing corkscrews, seems very effective due to the idea it may have a double mechanism meaning the removal of the corkscrew is make easier due to the ability for the mechanism to switch and use the power of both the entry mechanism and the removal mechanism making it suitable for its function and easier for the removal of corks
Aesthetics
The clashing of colour and inspiration of the artist makes this product very visually appealing, the smoothness of the paint on the product shows that it is not just a cheapo knockoff or fake. The ability for the colour contrast to catch a persons eye makes the product very desirable and a stand out piece in someone's house. The simplistic yet outstanding choice of colours means the eye looms upon it rather than regarding it as just another corkscrew meaning that for collectors or those of higher wealth trying to show off, this piece would not go unnoticed by guests
Materials
Materials include, beech wood and an unspecified metal, i can guess that it is stainless steel due to the nature of corkscrews. The materials are sustainable and sourced from a managed forest, the manufacturing process is also very sustainable due to the fact they are half, hand carved first before being put into a turning machine
Size
-
-
Slightly large for a standard corkscrew which usually would have a height of 110mm however this is larger, the range does span up to 180mm like this corkscrew so not out of the ordinary but may feel weird to hold for some, not very ergonomic or anthropometric
Cost
Costly for the product, estimated at £90 it is extortionate for the product it is, corkscrews would usually range for £11 to £30, higher ranges maxing out at about £48, meaning this product is overly priced compared to others in the market, however justification can be made due to the arduous process of which they are undergoing to create the product and the significance of the artist
Environment
The wood is sourced from a managed forest meaning it is recycled and sustainable, in addition the process of making it is half-hand turned meaning they are not mass produced to the scale of larger products, meaning emissions are at a low
Ergonomics
Standard to a normal corkscrew no different from most designs however has a peculiar handle making it easier to use, looks as though it uses a double mechanism for easier removal of a cork. Claimed to be ergonomic by company
