- - - - Throughout Nicholas II Reign, he ruled over an autocratic system, meaning he himself had all the power and control.
      - In March 1917, he ended up abdicating as a result of the situation of Russia. The people were despising the conditions and the tsarist system, and with Nicholas II having gone to the frontlines, it left Russia in the hands of his wife alexandra and rasputin.
  - - - The Provisional was a temporary executive body formed by the Duma after the Tsars abdication.
      - The Petrograd soviets were a representative body of workers, soldiers, and sailors in petrograd.
      - The dual government ended during the 1917 October revolution, seeing as the revolution was led by the bolsheviks to overthrow the provisional government
- - - - He saw Land reforms as the key to Tsarism survival. He aimed to break up the village commune, do away with open strip farming and reconstruct Russian agriculture.
      - Because of Land reforms, peasant households who owned their own small land would incentives to develop their land more.
        
        A more highly motivated peasantry would be more productive.
        Increased agriculture production would ensure the food supply of food to Russia's growing industrial towns, eliminating the possibilities of food prices increasings.
  - - - Grain requisitioning ended, which was popular among the peasants.
      - Traders could buy and sell goods, which was previously illegal during war communism.
      - Smaller factories, mainly those producing clothes and shoes, had their factories returned to their owners, allowing them to sell and make profit.
        
        Larger industries like coal and steel remained under state control, however some larger factories were allowed to sell and their product and make profit.
    - - it was far from a successful story however, seeing as peasants found the prices for manufactured goods high, to the point that in 1925, they were unwilling to sell grain for money as they couldn't buy much.
      - OVERALL The NEP did lead to some economic growth through industry and agriculture, but would ultimately cause more inequality, particularly amongst the peasants.

        The Duma, the Lower house of parliament, began working outside the Tsarist control.
        Nicholas II taking to the frontlines in March 1915, leaving Russia in the hands of the Tsarina, alexandra and Rasputin.

        The provisional government, Led by Alexander Kerensky and Prince Lvov. The provisional government was initially popular as it provided democracy and slowly stepped away from the tsarist regime, however it would begin to decline with the Provisional governments idea to continue the war, despite the casualties.
        
        Continued war led to a decline in Russian economy as well as food shortages.
        
        Prior to the october revolution, there was the June offensive, which was the military offensive set up by the PG to push back the austrians, however it ended horribly, causing more hate from the public.
        
        Shortly after that would be the Kornilov affair, where Kornilov would lead his provisional government forces to try and take over petrograd. This essentially forced petrograd to ally with the bolsheviks and Lenin, defeating Kornilov, but at the cost of bringing more support for the bolsheviks.
        
        The rise of the bolsheviks, with people looking for new change, and Lenin's april theses 'Peace, Land and bread.'
        
        From October 24-25th Lenin and the Bolsheviks would seize control over the Provisional government, after having gained enough support. Their coup d'etat was successful and had little violence.
      - People are really despising the Tsarist system
      - Leads to Tsar's abdication which would lead to his brother michael being in control for a day before the dual power, which was the shared power between the petrograd soviet and the provisional government.
