cosmic rays are high energy particles, mainly protons and atomic nuclei, from space
people used to think they were gamma rays because the ionized materials like electromagnetic radiation does
the 7 types of particles and their corresponding antiparticles are;
electron -> positron proton -> antiproton neutron -> antineutron neutrino -> antineutrino muon -> antimuon
pion -> antipions
kaon -> antikaons

energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. in particle collisions, the total energy before = the total energy after. but energy can change forms.
a strange particle contains a strange quark and is created via the string interaction (where strangeness is conserved). when they decay via the weak interaction, strangeness is not conserved. eg, a kaon is a strange particle.
