Jesus- central figure of Christianity. The son of God and the Messiah who died for our sins and resurrected.

Canonical Gospels- four main Gospels in the New Testament- Matthew, Mark, Luke, John
Non-Canonical Gospels

Gospel of Judas- the different view of Judas, portraying him as fulfilling Jesus' wishes by betraying him.

Synoptic Gospels- Mark, Matthew, Luke- share similar content, structure, and narrative.
Mystical Gospels- John, focuses on the spiritual and mystical aspects of Jesus' teaching.
John the Baptist- The prophet of Jesus, and baptized Jesus in the Jordan river.

Paul of Tarus- wrote Epistles (letters) from a significant portion of the New Testament. Spread Christianity beyond Jewish communities.

Eastern Orthodox Church- focuses on its own distinct theology, liturgy, and traditions.
Roman Catholic Church- broke off from the orthodox church. Follows the Pope and added the filioque to the Nicene Creed.
Protestant Reformation- 16th century movement, led by Martin Luther. Reform the Catholic Church and led the creation of Protestant denominations.
