        Blanche seems to reference kindness when she is in an immense state of distress, any climax in the play is followed by her dependence on kindness and contempt for cruelty.
        
        In all 3 situations, she is a different woman however. Namely, the juxtaposition between her position in scene 3 and 11. In scene 3, she is trying to win over Mitch, she is upholding an image of propriety, in scene 11, she is the most vulnerable and has officially lost her facade. Here, she loses her grace.
