VCO Circuit with Class A Amplifier - Coggle Diagram
VCO Circuit with Class A Amplifier
555 Timer Stage
Input Stage Control Stage
Pin 5 of the 555 Timer which controls the input resistance(10k Oscillator)
Pin 1 to the GND
Pin 2 and Pin 6 connected
Essentially connecting the threshold pin and the trigger pin together
Oscillator 2(100k)
Variable resistance value between Pin 4 and Pin 7
Essentially is a variable resistor between the Reset pin and the Discharge pin
Voltage Supply(5V in this case)
supplying power to Pin 4 and Pin 8
Essentially supplying power to the Reset pin and the Power Supply(Vcc) pin
Output Stage
Pin 3(Output pin) of the 555 Timer
Will be the output that will connect to the input stage of the LM358 Op Amp and eventually to the speaker
LM358 Op Amp Stage
Op Amp Stage
Gain control
R2(100k Ohm) as the feedback resistor
R1(10k Ohm) as the input resistor
Voltage Gain of the Op Amp is 11(1+ R2/R1)
DC Biasing Network
Reference Voltage at the non-inverting input
Voltage Divider circuit to set the Op-Amp's input bias
Resistors R3(200k Ohm) and R4(200k Ohm)
Input Stage
0.47 uF capacitor
Input resistor R1(10k Ohm)
receives output from Pin 3 of the 555 Timer
Output Stage of the Op Amp
4.7 uF Capacitor
Blocks DC signal(allowing AC to pass through)
Test the output on the right pin of the 4.7 uF capacitor on the breadboard with an oscilloscope
Load resistor R5(1k Ohm)
Affects the signal strength and power dissipation
Output Stage
Oscilloscope
Displays the waveform shapes of different stages of the circuit
Speaker
Good indicator of the behavior of the circuit
Displays the frequency sounds based off of the circuit oscillators
