Serosa: Pink/pale, days 3–4.
Alba: Yellow-white, after day 10.

. Puerperal Sepsis
Polymicrobial infection (often Group B Streptococcus, E. coli).
Risk factors: manual placenta removal, CS, prolonged rupture of membranes.
Management: IV antibiotics, prevention with prophylactic antibiotics during CS.

Bladder Dysfunction
Caused by anesthesia, trauma, or perineal swelling.

Bowel Dysfunction
Constipation is frequent due to dehydration, fear of pain.
Managed with fluids, fiber, lactulose.

Perineal Complications

Treatment: ice packs, analgesics, antibiotics, and wound care.
