The nucleus of a cell contains chromosomes made of DNA molecules. Each chromosome carries a large number of genes.
In body cells the chromosomes are normally found in pairs.

- peel the epidermis of an onion off
- add 2 drops of iodine and and place a covertslip over it

- use the focus knobs to make the image clear and repeat until the highest magnification is reached
- draw one cell and label it
