      - gaining satisfaction from these can be more difficult as effort is required to achieve them, but those who experience higher pleasures prefer them over lower due to their high value
      - higher pleasures can sometimes be contaminated w/ dissatisfaction/ suffering, but mill noted that in these case, higher pleasures still wouldn't be given up for lower
      - mill believed those who can choose between pleasures and judge their worth have experienced both higher + lower pleasures
      - these ppl are well-educated + intelligent, and if there is disagreement over the worth of one pleasure over another, the majority can choose
