The story begins with Robert Walton’s letters to his sister Margaret during his expedition to the North Pole. Walton’s crew sees a giant figure and rescues Victor Frankenstein, who tells his story. Victor, obsessed with creating life, assembles a being from dead parts but abandons it out of horror. The Creature, rejected by everyone for its appearance, learns language by observing peasants but after being violently rejected again, it becomes filled with hatred towards its creator. Seeking revenge, it kills Victor’s brother William, and Justine Moritz, the servant, is wrongly executed. Devastated, Victor dedicates his remaining life to hunting down the Creature. Their chase leads to the North Pole, where Victor is found by Walton’s crew.
