Vital Statistics (ex. birth certificates, death certificates, marriage records, divorce records, etc)
Health surveys (ex. Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)
Disease Registries - monitor long term health conditions and provide data that can be used in research and prevention methods. (ex. chronic disease, cancer)
Syndromic Surveillance - tracks symptoms and patterns to trace possible outbreaks before they could be predicted by traditional methods.

Ethical Considerations
Data Privacy: protecting personal health information (specifically as health records are now digitalized).
Informed consent: ensuring patients/participants understand where their data is going and where it may be utilized.
Equity & Fairness: avoiding bias in collecting data in order to ensure that underserved populations are equally represented.
