Benefits for defendants accepting plea bargains
Quicker resolution than going to trial
Cheaper for defendant than paying for numerous days in court, with no promised outcome
Definite result and likely somewhat lighter consequences than if convicted and decided by judge or jury
Perks for courts to push for acceptance of plea bargains
Ability to dispose of more cases quickly
Obtain a definite guilty plea from defendant
