Began with the the reign of King George I of Hanover, who came to power after the death without heirs of Queen Anne, 1714
He didn't speak English well and didn't care much about England and Scotland so he relies a lot on the Parliament, especially on certain ministers like Sir Robert Walepole
Sir Robert Walepole became the most important minister to the King, who gives him the title of "prime minister"
he was friend to both kings (George I and George II) they trusted him a lot and he was appreciate by the parliament as well

people were really interested in this, they read about it and this interest reflects in literature too
Woman had more freedom than in Europe, they had more possibilities to leave the house
he was an important explorer of the time and created the first maps of New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii

It's a age of prosperity for rich people, but it's also a period with problems of poverty and hunger
It leads to an alcoholism problem ad well, Gin become the most popular drink that even the poor people could buy it for a very low price

John Wesley, people approached religion with method, this movement believed in helping the poor
In this period there's a agricultural revolution, so it's easier to produce more food and more people can eat
But there was the problem of "endosures" landlords could close the public lands so the farmers lost them and were forced to move to the city (no more common land)
