EDUCATION/ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
Two board exams -Initial Test Competency can be written at the beginning of the year after CTA qualification. - Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) can only be written after ITC and passing the Professional Competence Development Programme provided by an accredited institution and complted at least 20 months of your internship.
Maximum of 6 attempts at passing the ITC
Posgraduate degree/diploma in Accounting reffered to as CTA for one year. CTA is valid for 3 years.
If you fail APC you repeat the programme again.
Bachelor 'S Degree of BCom In Accounting or similar degree accredited by SAICA for 3/ 4 years
You are now eligible to register as a CA once you have passed the APC exam and completed your internship.
It takes up to 7 years to qualify as a CA
National Senior Certificate
Minimum 60% in Accounting ,50% in Mathematics and 40% in English
