The effect of the not proven verdict is the same as the no guilt. the accused is acquainted but the implication is that they have escape convice only because of some doubt or ack of evidence. therefore not proven is incompatable with the presumption of innocence.
the "Not Proven" verdict, which has been part of Scottish law since the 17th century.
the "Not Proven" verdict is unique to the Scottish legal system and is one of three possible verdicts in a criminal trial, alongside "Guilty" and "Not Guilty."
It can be argued that the not proven is not conclusive and does not give closure to the families or victims of the accused.
"Not Proven" verdict affects the defendant’s life after trial. Unlike a "Not Guilty" verdict, a "Not Proven" verdict may leave a cloud of suspicion lingering over the accused.

Solemn vs summary
summary (less serious) cases, no conviction is recorded. Much faster and less detailed aiming to resolve issues quickly, e.g. traffic ticket hearing
Note: for some purposes (for example if the person is convicted of another crime in the future), it may be regarded as a previous conviction
Solemn (more serious) cases, a conviction is recorded. More thorough and takes much longer, e.g. a jury trial examining facts to reach a verdict.
Different types of court

Not proven
The legal implications of a 'not proven' verdict are the same as a 'not guilty' verdict. Generally a 'not proven verdict will be given out because the jury believes they are guilt but the evidence cannot reasonably prove this.

Not proven
Scotland’s third verdict of “not proven” allows juries to come to a safer conclusion without making rash judgements on either side and assuming a defendant’s innocence or guilt. However, this verdict often leaves victims unresolved and in the same place they started.
