Definition
Words that describe qualities, states, or characteristics of a noun or pronoun.
Example: "The beautiful flower."
Types of Adjectives
Based on Meaning:
Descriptive Adjectives: Describe the quality or state of a noun. ( Examples: beautiful, tall, soft, intelligent. )
Quantitative Adjectives: Indicate quantity. (Examples: some, few, many, all.)
Demonstrative Adjectives: Point to a specific noun. (Examples: this, that, these, those. )
Possessive Adjectives: Show ownership or possession. (Examples: my, your, his, her, our, their.)
Interrogative Adjectives: Used in questions. ( Examples: which, what, whose )
Based on Function:
Attributive Adjectives: Appear before a noun. (Example: "The blue sky." )
Predicative Adjectives: Follow linking verbs and modify the subject. (Example: "The sky is blue.")
