      - Old Man Warner is the oldest man in the town. He is a staunch advocate for keeping things exactly the way they are is threatened by the idea of change. He believes that stoping the lottery will lead to disaster. His thinking shows the danger of following tradition blindly, never questioning beliefs that are pass out to generations.
      - The townspeople: Initially, they appear kind and neighborly but after they participate in the brutal ritual reveals the dangers of groupthink and how people can keep thr cruelty through passive acceptance of oudated customs.

        The government assigns each unborn child a grade that predicts their potential contribution to society, determining their opportunities and treatment. For example, the narrator’s unborn child is given a grade of “10,” but it comes with a warning flag, suggesting potential risks or flaws. The parents will also get 2 more credits (from 6-8) if they choose to give birth to the baby. They get to choose their own car, they have modern technologies that can pick clothes for them, a bigger house and less hours of work with higher salary. At the end of the story, johnnie grade is minus to 1 (the lowest class in the system) and have to labor more than 60 hours a week with low payment
      - Analysis
        
        This grading system mirrors real-world classism, where individuals are judged by arbitrary assessment which often determine their societal value.The flag attached to the child’s grade indicates that perfection is subjective, and even those ranked highly are scrutinized and marginalized. The inequality is reflected through the difference between the high class and low class. The incentives offered to the parents—better living conditions, higher salaries, and fewer working hours— to the shift in Johnnie’s status to the lowest class at the end of the story reveals the instability and cruelty of the system. The requirement for more than 60 hours of work per week with minimal pay exemplifies the exploitation and dehumanization that occurs when a person’s value is determined by societal hierarchies rather than their intrinsic worth. The story highlights the unfairness and rigidity of systems that stratify people based on standards beyond their control.

        In the field of Economics, Permanent lives will require more occupations as the older generations will gatekeeper their own careers. Potentially, this will limit the opportunities for the new generations. Immortality will also worsen the inequality between classes in society as if the initial generations were wealthy, they could manipulate economic power, control markets and partially help their younger. This might stifle competition and innovation in the industry.
      - Psychology
        
        Psychologically, no endpoint to life will make individuals struggle with motivation and purpose in life which lead to other mental health issues. Building milestones and timeline for achieving goals, gaining things in life is the meaning of life with Mortality. However, without an endpoint, there is a lack of progression which reduces the sense of accomplishment. In the long term, individuals may lose interest in daily activities. Consequently, fall into depression or anxiety.
      - Development
        
        Society’s developments will be lessened as the old generation with their old ideas, experiences will just stand with it. The new generation usually challenges old ideas and creates revolution in art, science, and politics but without their new thinking, society will stagnate. For example, if Beethoven was still alive and produced classical symphonies in the 17th century style, he could have monopolized the music industry, making it difficult to form new genres of music such as jazz, rock, rap,..
