Pathophysiology
Long term in show bronchial epithelial changes progressing from squamous cell changes or metaplasia (abnormal changes in adult cells) to carcinoma in situ.

Tumour growth causes partial or complete airway blockage, resulting in collapse of lung lobes distal to the tumour.
