air factors
Mountain barriers
-
When hot air travels up it makes condensation on the windward side but when the air travels down on the leeward side it does not make any condensation.
A mountain range like the rokies can create a barrier to prevailing winds. Water moist air rises up because the mountain forces it up. The warm air cools , condenses and precipitation and makes it rain on the windward side. The windward side rains more while on the other side( leeward ) it does not rain because the air is travelling down instead of up which is when it creates precipitation and it rains.
bodies of water

It takes very a very long time to heat up or cool down. So all summer the lake is releasing the cold from the winter time and the heat from the summer. it will make it be hotter each month the sun is out and by the time it is winter it will be hotter than a normal winter like in the middle of Canada like Yukon

Lakes and oceans are very good at absorbing and holding the heat energy. This means all summer the ocean and lakes are absorbing and holding heat inside the water.
elevation
-
-
The higher up you go the farther apart the air molecules are. Few molecules means that higher elevations are colder because there are fewer particles to trap heat. Air is at a low elevations near the land or water and are very good at absorbing heat.

wind& air masses
-
-
Helps move air masses around the world. Cold air comes from the poles and warm comes from the equator, the wind systems are like a energy distributions system they balance out the atmosphere by redistributing heat from the equator and cold from the poles.
When cold air meets warm air it is forced up because cold air is more dense, the warm air will cool, condense and rain.
ocean currets
If you live near a warm ocean current you will have a warmer wetter climate, if you live next to a cold ocean it will be cold and dry.
-
Ocean currents are masive flows of water,90% of the worlds currents are cold. Cold currents come from poles and warm come from equator gave colder dryer climate. Ocean currents are an energy distribution system. Ocean currents move in circular patterns because the earth is spinning on a axis.
